Hi,

I have a Rolex Day-Date ref 118209 Rhodium dial with Roman Numerals with the updated/newer fat buckle and box and papers, P serial, sold in 2005. The provenance of this timepiece is that it was originally purchased by a very successful businessman in the San Francisco bay area. Clearly the iconic day date is symbolic to captains of their industry and success. Another aspect I like about this piece is it uses the same look as today's current platinum design (smooth bezel with president bracelet). And in my opinion one of the reasons why it was discontinued (no differentiation between white gold and platinum).

I am an independent watch collector and I provide liquidity to the secondary luxury timepiece market on recognizable brands (i.e. I buy watches).
